What do we know about this scene
The photograph by Sylwester Braun "Kris" shows in September 1944 a two-person patrol walking south along Jasna Street, in the area of Dąbrowski Square. On the right side of the frame there were tenement houses at 19 and 17 Jasna Street. The soldiers' clothing shows the improvised nature of the Home Army's supplies. The insurgent on the right has a German pattern helmet. 35/40, Dienstglas 6×30 binoculars, a camouflage jacket and an MP 28 submachine gun. The companion carries an MP 40 and wears a double-sided Wehrmacht jacket; both have German camouflage trousers and shovels. Weapons and uniforms were obtained in battle and from the occupier's warehouses. Archival descriptions do not provide the names or assignment of both soldiers.
