What do we know about this scene
The photograph of Sylwester Braun "Kris" is from September 18, 1944. It shows the insurgents at a shooting position in the ruins of the Main Post Office at Napoleon Square 8. The soldier on the right was identified with a Mauser rifle. 1898, and the one standing next to it was a Błyskawica submachine gun, produced clandestinely in Warsaw. In the background stands the heavily damaged Prudential at 9 Napoleon Square. The Main Post Office was captured by the Home Army on August 2, and the Prudential, captured the day before, served as an observation point. The frame connects two important objects of the insurgent Śródmieście, but its actual location is the position in the ruins of the Main Post Office.
