What do we know about this scene
The photo by Sylwester Braun "Kris" shows soldiers of the Home Army Group "Chrobry II" on an earthen barricade built across the street. Żelazna at the height of property no. 63. The photographer took the shot from the first floor of the tenement house at Żelazna 58, pointing the lens to the north; behind the barricade, buildings no. 65, 67 and 69 were recognized. Another frame from the same series shows smoke in the area of the intersection with Krochmalna and wrecks of trucks placed further across the street. "Chrobry II" defended the western part of Śródmieście. Barricades covered positions, controlled passages and made it difficult for the enemy to move through the streets. It is a document of a specific defense point and a specific unit.
